Steps

A team needed a simple way to get the latest test build onto real Android devices under two restrictions: no Google Play Services and no Google accounts. There was no off-the-shelf tool that fit, so we had AI build one: AppHub, a working Android app, in about two days.
Why it matters
AppHub is a good example of what we mean by AI-driven development. A narrow internal tool that would once have waited months for a free developer can be designed, built, tested and shipped in days, tailored exactly to how the team works.
How it was made
- Designed with AI: the screens were designed in Google Stitch.
- Built with AI: Claude Code wrote the app and its automated tests, with us steering the product decisions.
- Shipped automatically: every change is tested and published by an automated pipeline.
What it does
Testers sign in with GitHub, pick an app and a version, and install it in a few taps. It works on locked-down devices where the usual app stores are not available, and it keeps sign-in secure without storing any secrets in the app.
